Dr. Michal Marszewski, a post-doctoral scholar in the UCLA School of Engineering, received a certificate for the 2017/18 Chancellor’s Award for Postdoctoral Research Nominees.

Marszewski’s research is interdisciplinary in nature and at the cross-road of engineering, material science, and chemistry. He is the inventor of a new method to make porous materials both thermally insulating and transparent. These new materials will be integrated in windows to increase the energy efficiency of residential and commercial buildings and reduce their carbon footprint.

Marszewski’s collaborators are: Dr. Laurent Pilon (MAE), Dr. Bruce Dunn (MSE), Dr. Sarah Tolbert (CHEM), and Dr. Yongjie Hu (MAE).
