The 2025 U.S. News Best Graduate Schools Rankings place UCLA Aerospace Engineering at #9 and Mechanical Engineering at #13 in the nation. This marks the first time our Aerospace Engineering program has broken into the top 10 graduate engineering programs in the country.
Professor Xiaolin Zhong, Chair of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, states, “This achievement reflects the outstanding accomplishments in research and innovation, teaching and mentoring, and professional service and outreach by the faculty, students, postdocs, and alumni of our department. One of our department’s goals is to reach the top 10 ranking for both Aerospace Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. Now that we’ve achieved this milestone in Aerospace Engineering, I’m confident that—with continued excellence—we’ll reach that goal for Mechanical Engineering very soon.”
