SEMINAR featuring Jarred Willhite “Innovations and Current Efforts at NASA’s Glenn Research Center

TALK DESCRIPTION: The NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio designs and develops innovative technology to advance NASA’s missions in aeronautics and space exploration. Home to the Neil A. Armstrong Test Facility, the largest space simulation and spacecraft test site in the world, Glenn hosts leading efforts in spaceflight systems, propulsion, power, communications, microgravity science, and human research. Its engineers have played major roles in monumental achievements from the first microgravity experiments ever flown to the development of the liquid hydrogen rocket engine and ISS electrical power system. Current research extends to solar electric propulsion, novel lunar power sources, and deep space network applications, among much more. Join us as we hear from a current NASA engineer about his career journey and some of the exciting research efforts at Glenn.

BIOSKETCH: Jarred Wilhite is an aerospace engineer at the NASA Glenn Research Center who specializes in thermal analysis and heat transfer of aerospace systems and vehicles. Prior to joining NASA, he attended the University of Cincinnati where he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Aerospace Engineering. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Aerospace Engineering at Case Western Reserve University where his research focuses on developing and testing innovative microfluidic thermal management systems for power electronics applications. In his free time, he enjoys running, biking, traveling, watching sports, and playing and listening to music.
