Novel heat transfer fluids

Researcher: Prof. Sungtaek Ju

We are exploring high-temperature (> 650 °C) heat transfer fluids, especially liquid metals, for potential applications in solar thermal and other power generation and heat recovery. In collaboration with partner institutes, we are evaluating corrosion and other material characteristics of these fluids as well as their heat transfer characteristics. A high-temperature flow loop has been constructed to that end.
