MAE Student wins MRS Gold Graduate Student Award for Outstanding Ph.D. Research

UCLA MAE graduate student Joon Sang Kang, a Ph.D. candidate in Professor Yongjie Hu’s H-Lab research group, won the Gold Medal for Graduate Student Award at the 2019 Materials Research Society (MRS) Meeting. The MRS Graduate Student Awards consisting of gold and silver medals, are highly competitive and intended to honor and encourage graduate students whose academic achievements and current materials research display a high order of excellence and distinction. Joon is the only MRS Gold Graduate Student Awardee across all U.C. campuses and one of five Gold Awardees internationally this year. Congratulations!
