Hiroto Odaka was awarded the 2024 Honjo International Scholarship from Japan. The Honjo International Scholarship is awarded to only a few select students among hundreds of applicants each year. Hiroto is a member of Prof. Kunihiko Taira’s research group and is a Ph.D. candidate in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at UCLA. Hiroto’s research focuses on fluid mechanics and data science, with a particular emphasis on extreme aerodynamics. The Honjo International Scholarship will provide him with partial financial support for tuition, living costs, and international conferences from September 2024 through March 2028.
